Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, an employer is expected to prepare and review annually their written occupational health and safety policy. They are also expected to develop and maintain a program to implement that policy [clause 25(2)(j)].

Section 25(2) Without limiting the strict duty imposed by subsection (1), an employer shall,
Section 25 (2)(h) take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker;
Section 25(2)(j) prepare and review at least annually a written occupational health and safety policy and develop and maintain a program to implement that policy;
